A 25 year old pastor in Bushenyi district yesterday committed suicide under unclear circumstances. The deceased has been identified as Gilbert Ayebazibwe a pastor at Bushenyi dominion church located along Kyeitembe road in Bushenyi town and resident of Nyamiko village in Nyakabirizi division Bushenyi-Ishaka municipality. The pastor allegedly left the church during yesterday’s service at around 2:00pm after telling Christians that he is going to meet Jesus. Few minutes later, Christians were shocked to learn about the news that the Pastor dumped himself in a nearby pond. An eye witness who was fetching firewood by the time of the incident told our reporter that she saw the man running towards the pond and hurriedly notified police which rushed to the scene but only to find him already dead. The Bushenyi district OCCID Peter Tindyebwa says they are still investigating circumstances under which the man decided to end his life.
