A 29-year-old man with multiple felony convictions was arrested Tuesday evening after allegedly attempting to choke a police dog. The Spokane police dog, Rav (pictured) was not seriously injured. Harming a police dog is a felony offense that carries a potential penalty of five years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000. In addition, if found guilty, the man could be forced under Washington state law to pay a civil penalty of up to $5,000 to the police department.
