A 35 year old male from Larrakeyah is currently languishing in police custody after attacking a pedi-cab driver and trying to steal his cab in Darwin around 4.40am. The 35 year old left a nightclub and got in the pedi-cab with a friend. A short way into the journey the 35 year old demanded the driver stop so he could get out and urinate on the street. While he was relieving himself he began to argue with and abuse the driver. Next minute the 35 year old punched and pushed the driver and began to pedal off in the pedi-cab. A passing Police patrol was flagged down. They tried to sort the matter but the 35 year old demanded to be arrested. He was obliged and is now facing charges of assault, disorderly and offensive behaviour. Duty Superintendent Louise Jorgensen
