A 5 stars out of 5 stars review from Amazon. An extraordinarily remarkable fantasy thats innovative and original April 4, 2014 By Lucinda Format:Kindle Edition `Dont thank me yet. We have a difficult few months ahead of us, short of rations and with some difficult tasks to fulfil before the Tree can live again. There will be times when you wish you were down there sleeping through the Dark Time with your colleagues. Mythology maker JRR Tolkiens connection with forests and woodland {such as for instance the invention of Ents like Treebeard},is remarkably similar to John C Rees. The mind-blowing inspired concept of other worlds within worlds, through Tree `portals is utterly magical and opens up so many possibilities. Like Philip Pullmans invention of Dust and parallel universes, this world {a very different Earth} is interesting with an in-depth background history. On the planet Arbouron, all kinds of intelligent entities dwell such as Sprites. What makes this novel even more supremely singular is the military `feel to it and how the cloned Sprites are formed into ranks; with Cadets, Officers, and Lieutenants etc. as though they form one militia. Chris Evans `Iron Elves trilogy contains slight similarities in terms of characters and camaraderie amongst the ranks of individuals. We live in a universe infinite not just in size, but infinite in possibility. Anything that can happen, does happen within alternate realities throughout the endless cosmos. Some of these realities share so many similarities they almost touch. At weak points in the fabric of these realities, where events in one seep into the other, a special type of creature lives one life in multiple universes... We call these creatures Apple Trees. I was simply spellbound by this awe-inspiring work of epic premise and impressive imaginative vision. Here is an author definitely to watch, as `Winter Squad is a fictional creation of scope, substance and intensity that seeps into your soul by its enthralling magnetism. Most deserved to rival top authors of this genre, I was shocked by the astonishing profundity of the world of trees. The gripping, absorbing storyline kept me glued to the page with animated fascination as to what new discovery I would uncover, in such a richly imagined world of wondrous delights. Not since William Horwoods Hyddenworld or Lyras Jordan have I plunged into the most phenomenal fantasy creation of magnificent revelation.
