A 9 ? ( the entire skillet measures 11 outside, about a 10 1/2 cooking surface) Flat skillet, cast iron. I picked this up several years ago at a local flea market, pretty much in the condition of this first pic. I decided yesterday to clean it up. I spent about 3 minutes on it with an angle grinder with a heavy wire cup brush on it, which resulted in pic 2. I then glass-bead blasted it top and bottom for about 20 minutes (Pics 2 - 7), took it home and washed it and quickly wiped it down with olive oil. I heated it for about an hour in the oven while my wife had supper going. (Wanted to make sure I had baked all the moisture out of it). Ill season it properly first chance I get, but wanted it at least oiled so it wouldnt start rusting. Pics 5 & 6 shows the identifying marks available. Capital letter H, down near the handle, the letters N & G beneath the number 9 at the opposite edge. The bottom Is almost completely flat with the tiniest bit of a heat ring around the perimeter. The top Is flat with a slightly curved up rim not quite a half inch deep. Im thinking the G might indicate griddle. Thoughts anyone? The last 2 pics are my glass bead cabinet, and the skillet inside.
