A-A GV Soccer team scored an important victory against League and Division rivals last night with a 2-1 victory over powerhouse Addison. The Eagles clearly came to play and the opening minutes saw senior Catherine bang a header off the upright from a Caitlin corner kick. A-A continued to press the visitors and was rewarded accordingly when Catherine slipped a sweet through ball to Caitlin who found the back of the old onion bag with her shot to put A-A up 1-0. A-A was caught napping after the break when Addison scored the equalizer from the opening kickoff. But the home team had a date with destiny and was not to be denied. Caitlin added her second on the night when she notched a stunning solo effort for the eventual match winner. A-As back line was under consistent pressure the remainder of the match, but they showed great courage and held on for the victory. Our team played good soccer for long periods of the match and withstood the physical play of Addison to run their record to 4-0-1 overall and 3-0-0 in League play. Next up for the Eagles is an away match at Campbell-Savona on Wednesday and a monster match at home on Friday versus current State champions Jasper-Troupsburg. Come show your support for team!
