In a threatening massage to India,AL Qaeda has called on Afghanistan jihadists to liberate Kashmir, reported Sahara Samay an Indian news site today. Al Qaedas new video in Urdu called on Muslims in the Kashmir region to follow in the footsteps of their brothers in Iraq and Syria and launch a violent jihad against Indian authorities. Video Titled The war should continue: A message for Kashmirs Muslims, the video features a statement by Maulana Asim Umar, a senior leader of al-Qaidas Pakistan cell . Umar also called upon Muslims living in India and Pakistan as well as in Kashmir and POK in this video, saying they should join the global jihadi movement seeking to re-establish an Islamic caliphate From the land of Afghanistan, a caravan is heading toward India. Not on the basis of someones directive. Not on the basis of some governmental policy. But simply on the basis of abiding by Gods command, Umar says. The video promises a caravan of jihadists coming from Afghanistan to liberate Kashmir. The video features images of demonstrations in Jammu and Kashmir and the silhouette of an armed man against a purported photo of the Dal Lake. Umar claims the flag of Islam will fly above the Red Fort in Delhi and sermons in the citys main mosque will be read in the caliphs name. He further claims the Pakistan government reneged on its promises to liberate Kashmir. Umar says: The Former Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf imposed restrictions and the rulers of the time declared jihad impermissible. The Pakistani establishment sold out the Kashmiris and made Kashmir an old memorial rather than an active battlefront, he says. Western countries previously expressed concern that the recent election victory of the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata party may lead to intensified militant activity in the region.
