A BEAUTIFUL CANADA STORY: In 1976, Canada hosted the Olympics. At the end of the games, Canada became the only country to host the Olympic games without winning a gold medal. That did not go down well with the Canadian government. There seemed to be no way out of this dilemma. Charlie Francis, a former Canadian 100 meter sprinter advised the Canadian Sports Authority that the only chance for Gold medals for team Canada was for the country to NATURALIZE BLACKS. Upon his advice, Canada recruited many Jamaicans including BEN JOHNSON. Attempt after attempt; game after game gold still eluded Canada. However Ben Johnson snatched a gold medal against Carl Lewis in a NEW WORLD RECORD TIME: 9.83 seconds in 1988 Olympics games in front of 100 thousand spectators. Until this day, the 1988 100 meter final is the most talked about final. Ben did not only win but he was also the fastest man in the world. Any lessons? * The Canadian government did not say nomatter what they would fall on their own citizens to win gold medals. They looked elsewhere for answers to their problem they got it. * The Canadians did not get their answer straight away (gold medal) in 1976 when the problem occurred but the answer came in 1988 ie 12 years later. 12 years of patience and practice. Our elders say with patience you can open up an ant and perform surgery on its intestines. Lets be patient in whatever we do. Our time will come and when that day comes, we will set a NEW RECORD. God bless you!
