A BEAUTiFUL LADY IS A JOY FOREVER... My Sister in Christ, Ma. Nena Antonia Imperio, was widowed at her prime, she had to struggle to send all her 5 children to school who have acquired degrees from college and who are now gainfully employed abroad and in the country. Her husband succumbed to cancer caused by tremendous amount of stress courtesy of a financial fiasco wrought by an investment scam during the 90’s. Although her husband’s family owned a rural bank in Nueva Ecija, the scam left her husband in pain and strain as he wasn’t able to recover emotionally and thus was physically weakened. The matter was too much for the husband to handle he died leaving a wife to fend for her own self and children so young to be fatherless. You know what transpired after the loss of both a loved one and financial security? Sis Nena worked so hard, ply her trade from office to office, accepted orders for curtains, draperies, special wall and window covers, earned well from her industry. She was so industrious she was able to cover 10 to 12 clients daily. Her descendants: One is in a medical care institution, a son is with the Civil Aeronautics regulatory agency of our government, another daughter of hers is in United States raising her own Fil-Am family. Now, to me, Sis Nena, at 76, is a real beauty. Her victory over the odds past and present of her life, standing tall at her achievement of courage and love for her family did not diminish her charm and beauty. She never loved any man other than her husband, who was her first and last boyfriend. Even at 76, Sis Nena is still a stunner. Her religiosity is incomparable. She was the one who gifted me with Max GXL when I was very sick last year, she was the one who would put thousands of pesos into my cheap maong bag that I like to carry halfway my body from my left shoulder to my right hip whenever we meet at the church ground. She was the one who prayed too hard for my recovery inside the Adoration Chapel, she is the one who would want Aljon to be close to her apo Jason in order that my son will have a friend, and so many other great and small gestures of a true Christian woman. Genuine love abounds in my new environment. Sis Nena tops the list, followed by my other sisters in Christ who saw me through the difficult times in 2013. Their prayers for me and Aljon were ocean deep, kaya effective. She was and still is very beautiful….! In and out, at all times. My son and I love her.
