A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who helped make our 2014 Holiday Open House, Holiday Pet Portraits and Thrift Shop sale a great, fun weekend and a HUGE success for our animals!! We loved talking and meeting with each and everyone of you! And the best news -between Friday and Saturday TWELVE dogs, TWO cats (with NINE pending cat adoptions) found forever homes!!! With dogs and cats that went home earlier in the week, this first week of December - TWENTY FIVE animals have found forever families!! We want to thank all of YOU making a stop at our shelter a part of your day this weekend! We had a great turn out and a packed parking lot - which was wonderful! Many of you found several treasures and great deals at our huge thrift shop sale! We thank all of you who donated cookies for our Holiday Open House! We had a wonderful turn out for our Pet Portraits and created many special memories! We thank everyone for donations both monetary and special items like wonderful holiday collar scarfs hand made by Clara Tisdale Marxs for the pet portraits. A thank you to Sally of Pawtique - bringing many handmade and other special items including Scentsy and Thirty-One Totes. For those of you who dont know - Sally is also founder of Pennies-4-Paws - who transports all these wonderful dogs to us - giving them a second chance! And, we even got to see some past alumni from the Dodge County Humane Society! Remember Marshall (now Bucky), the adorable, happy little dog who came to us this past spring from the Louisville Metro Animal Services shelter in Kentucky? We were thrilled to see this special boy at the open house!! And he even had his portrait taken! Taken from a special post from Pennies-4-Paws - Today, Paula who adopted Marshall (now Bucky) from the Dodge County Humane Society back in May (I brought him up on transport from KY and she filled out an application for him the next day), came back to have a holiday pic taken today. It brings me great joy to know he is living happily ever after. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing how truly happy she is to be his mom. He has gained ten MUCH NEEDED pounds!!!
