A BLAST FROM the PAST When I was 3 months along with JP dear old Dad decides we are going to go on our first camping trip. His friend Al C told him about the Lancaster Fair and it was just up the road a piece, his wife Nadine laughed. Well a whole group of us went up in five cars and what was told us about an hr was 3 hrs later. We get to the camp ground and set up. Nadine bought a cot for me to sleep on. Right quess who slept on it and got razed by Nadine? Yep you got it dear old Dad (Pat). Next morning after breakfast we all went to the Lancaster Fair. The guys all took off and the woman and kids went exploring. First thing Dee saw was the Ferris wheel. We took her over and the man said she was to small and she let her Veronica bangs hang over her eyes and being 2 yrs about in age smiled and said. Mister I promise to sit pretty and not swing the bucket then smiled. Well he could not resist. Up we went, and she kept her word and when it was up and he came to let us out, he asked if she wanted another turn, her eyes brightened right up along with her smile and we got 2 more turns. The other mothers caught up with us again and the boys wanted to see the Bud Wagon. The wagon was hitched up for the parade and the horses were huge. A Dalmatian dog sitting on the seat waiting for the driver. Dee having no fear, let go of my hand and walked under all the horses weaving back and forth till she got to the front horses. In the mean time the driver saw what she was doing and was yelling at me to get her away from them. They never moved. When she stood in front of the lead pair she rubbed their necks and both bought the heads down and she patted them on the foreheads said good bye and started to walk with me. With the dog barking and the brake on the Clydesdales start following us. The driver could not get them under control and yelled at us to stop. The horses stopped. We walked the horses walked. We stopped and again they stopped. Driver being puzzled about every thing asked if she could ride beside him in the Parade. I wish I had a camera. When the guys joined us they noticed Dee was not with us and panicked. Youll see her in the parade. It was great seeing Dee, the Dalmatian and driver with the full team heading off the Parade. When we met up the driver had to cover the first 2 horses head for us to leave with out the whole team following, saying I never I my life saw these 2 act this way. Rest of the weekend was normal and we kept Dee away from the Horses.
