A BLIZZARD WARNING is still in effect for the summits of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa. The Mauna Kea Access Road is currently blocked and impassable due to fallen pine trees near the water reservoir. No vehicles are currently able to make it beyond this point in either direction. The road to the summit is also closed at the Visitor Center due to hurricane force winds, heavy fog, rain and ice on the road. The winds are sustained in the 80 to 100 mph range with gusts as high as 130 mph. Hawaii Island summits remain under a high wind warning as well. Currently its snowing on the summit of Mauna Kea, relative humidity is at 93 percent, the temperature is 28° and sustained winds are out of the WNW at 40 mph.
