The bat pups are brought in when they are afflicted by tick paralysis or when their mothers have died or become too ill to feed them. Volunteers rehabilitate and release the bats with a high standard of care, as well as provide a sanctuary for some of those who cannot be released. The hospital currently has over 50 bats in care. The day starts early around 6am and doesnt end until the last bubs are fed around 11pm. The bubs are fed every 4 hours with feeds currently taking around three hours to complete.
