A Beauty Rarely Seen There Was a poor little girl Who grew up alone. She of course lived with her family inside of a home, But the little girl always felt like this family wasnt her own. She felt different and awkward, even left out. This made a pain in her chest, she knew nothing about, And this pain hurt much more when her mother would say youll never be pretty, its such a shame Over and over she heard these words, And believed her mother must be right. She took a look in the mirror, Trying to hold back the tears, She hated herself and it just wasnt fair, No longer able to look at the ugly she saw, she sent the reflection into shattered flight, This was the start of her much shattered life. She couldnt see how beautiful she was, Her mother had made her blind to the beauty this sweet girl carried inside. A heart of gold was her God given gift, Hidden within so none could ruin it, But unfortunately the once sweet little girl, Is now grown old, bitter and alone, After all these years she still fails to see, The beauty shes held but never was shown. So remember, no matter what you may be told, Dont rely on eyes or mirrors for a yes or no, they cant say youre beautiful, For your heart is your true mold. -bk
