A Bushfire Watch and Act Message For Wattle Hill Issued At: 28/01/2014 18:17pm There is an uncontrolled bushfire at Wattle Hill. This fire may put Wattle Hill and the residents specifically located within the junction of White Hill Road, and Wiggins Road (including the areas of Wharmsbys Creek and Wiggins Creek) at high risk now. The area between Forcett and Copping is not under imediate threat. There may be embers, smoke and ash falling on Wattle Hill. Fire under these conditions can be difficult to control. Reported closed roads: The following roads are closed for general traffic, residents are allowed access to their properties. White Hill Road between Wiggins Road and Delmore Road is closed. Wiggins Road between White Hill Road and Nugent Road is closed. Delmore Road between White Hill Road and Nugent Road is closed.For further information on road closures please visit police.tas.gov.au/community-alerts/ What to do: If your home is well prepared and actively defended, it should provide shelter. If you are going to leave, make sure you have a clear path to a safer place. If your family has made a bushfire survival plan, use it now. If you dont live near Wattle Hill, stay away.
