A CHIEF ENGINEER POSITION ON A 34M MOTOR YACHT - EXPEDITION YACHT (PRIVATE) WORK INFORMATION: A 34M Explorer motor yacht is currently searching for a Chief engineer to join their crew of 5. The yacht is currently in French Polynesia. The candidate will need to be aged mid 30’s to mid 40’s and must be well presented, cheerful personality, hard working and a team player. The candidate will need to have experience on a similar size yacht or larger and must have worked in the International Super Yacht industry for at least 3 years as a Chief engineer. Engine room is huge, as are all the bilge and engineering areas, there is a large Chiefs office area and Chief has own cabin for much of the time. The candidate will need to be organized, a self-starter and flexible at all times, be able to work outside their duties when required. Yacht is owned by a European owner who has an older family and the emphasis is on diving remote locations, spear fishing and some kite boarding. The owners go out of their way to include the crew, often doing a dive every day when the yacht is in dive mode and all guests are very friendly easy going people. BENEFITS: 5.5 days per month leave cumulative, days off in lieu dependent on program, days off option will allow un-taken leave to be paid out. Medical and accident insurance will be provided, one flight (economy will be provided) per year. Uniform/food/accommodation will be provided. QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold a engineering ticket of Y4 and up. Must have strong and well practiced knowledge in managing a yacht this size with particular emphasis on Flag and Class issue management with strong computer skills essential. ITINERARY: South Pacific & Micronesia START DATE: MED FEBRUARY 2015 EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full time. Proven Longevity is a must. SALARY: $8000 - $9000 USD per month, however salary is to be discussed if you should obtain an interview and will be paid according to experience.
