A CLIENT CAME BY TODAY TO PAY. He owed me part of his Acceptance - TopicsExpress

A CLIENT CAME BY TODAY TO PAY. He owed me part of his Acceptance Fee, and when his case was settled at the initial stages, I told him to forget the balance. He said no. He insisted that he would pay me the balance, but that he needed time to come up with the amount. That was almost 6 months ago. I had forgotten about it, not really expecting him to come around. I was therefore surprised when he came by this morning to pay. How much do you owe me? I asked. Per your last statement, Atty., it was P17,000.00, was the answer. And how much are you paying me today? P5,000.00, he said, setting down 10 pcs of P500.00 bills on my desk. Okay, I said. I will take this, but this is your last payment. I am waiving the rest. He smiled broadly, sighed a big sigh of relief, and thanked me profusely. Finally, he understood that he did not owe me anything more. After the client left, Rolly asked me what it was about. When I told him, he shook his head. You will never become rich in practice. Right! I said. Why do you think I shifted to business?
