A CONNECTION WITH THE DIVINE What is it with words and the paths - TopicsExpress

A CONNECTION WITH THE DIVINE What is it with words and the paths they create that lead us to an awareness of our connections to our world and each other? Their forms on the page or the sounds they make do not matter; only the inroads to the soul. Set them to music, speak them with rhythm or cadence and open up the inner realm of your existence. Allow them to draw you over the hill, to paint your horizons with meaning and whether it is hate or love, blow wide the power of your emotions. There is more to us than flesh and blood; inside us we have contact with a realm of being that transcends our human understanding, means more than reason and logic, a realm that encompasses the universe and all its populations. We can touch the soul of an animal, the vision of a prophet or the reasoning of a great mind and we do it through reaching out with or absorbing the magic of words. Our inner realm has wider borders than can be perceived by our limited understanding. It is as big as we need it to be, as forgiving as our human failure requires from it. We have access and we have freedom to explore all the wonders of our earthly status with impunity. And we do it with words; Japanese or Congolese, our words, spoken or heard, transport us to an awareness of the existence of incredible beauty; around us, in us and belonging irrevocably to us. Is this what people call God? Is this wonder the evidence of something beyond the mere spirituality of a person? When we hear the music or speak with the power of emotions purely expressed do we open up a link to a greater being or do we merely access a part of our humanity that recognises others and the vastness of the universe in a way that brings us joy and a sense of righteousness. Does it matter; it is a gift that we all have, a place we can all visit. We belong. Through words we are allowed to participate, to release the awe and glory of just being part of our universe and of each other for stolen moments of time. Our life is a meaningless thing if we do not do this. The experience of life has to include those times when we have tasted the magic of it, revelled in the deep emotion of contact with the creativity of others. When my time is done; then write a few words in my memory; write: This was a man who had some contact with the immensity of us. youtu.be/pLLMzr3PFgk
