A COW has been rescued from a ditch near the Gwendraeth Valley in a four hour ordeal. Crews from Llanelli were called to the Cynheidre area at 7.38pm on Sunday to reports of a cow stuck on a bank. According to Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service (MAWW) the cow was unable to get itself up due to a steep slope on the bank which led to a ditch. In a bid to assist the crews and remove the animal a vet was called to the scene along with a crew from Carmarthen. A winch was then used to move the cow and a local farmer also assisted with his tractor. The animal was eventually moved to safety at around 11.37pm - after reportedly being stuck there since 1pm on Sunday.
