A California-based telecommunications manufacturer is moving its headquarters to Rockwall Texas (Dallas Metro). Channell Commercial Corp. will occupy a 175,000-sf facility to be built at the northwest corner of John King Blvd. and Justin Rd. Construction on the $20 million office and industrial building will begin in the fourth quarter. The building will house 200 workers. Channell is setting up the new Texas operation because of California’s less-attractive business environment. However, it will keep a plant in California. Channell Commercial is a 92-year-old family-owned business that makes thermoplastic enclosures and advanced copper and fiber connectivity products for companies including Verizon, AT&T, Comcast, Time Warner, Cox Communications and Charter Communications.
