A Christian does not merely know about God; they know God through sweet personal experiential faith. We call to Him as a friend. Jesus said to some devout Jews, You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the scriptures that testify about me (John 5:39). We do not study Scripture as an end (to become theologically smart), we study Scripture as a means to the end of knowing and personally relating to God by faith. This does not make biblical study less significant, it surely gives our study direction, purpose, and more significance. We study Gods Word, under the leadership of Gods Spirit, in Gods presence, and God awaits our faith filled response; or tragically, our disobedience and unbelief. May today be a day that we read and study Gods Word and respond to Him with a full heart of obedient faith desiring to know Him in the sweetness of personal experiential faith.
