A Christmas Message from Police Chief Wayne Isbell Christmas - TopicsExpress

A Christmas Message from Police Chief Wayne Isbell Christmas time is a chance for all of us to pause, give thanks, celebrate religious beliefs and to reflect back on the events of the past year. Looking back this past year your police department has celebrated vast changes in our policing philosophy. With the implementation of our Clergy and Police Alliance “CAPA” program, we now have local clergy members riding with our officers on a volunteer bases. As with your local public safety police, fire, and EMS being first responders we also now enjoy our clergy being on the spot with law enforcement. Rest assured our church leaders in Mount Pleasant are dedicated to making our community a better place. Their partnership with local law enforcement help all of us with reaching out to those in need. Their activism help people who are in trouble and break the law, people who may be depressed and in need to talk, and those who may be faced with a financial hardship are given immediate direction on how to improve their situations. Every situation your officers come across requires a different response. Both officers and clergy are working together to make this a better community for all of us to enjoy. As this city has grown the police department has implemented new technology to assist us with policing smarter. Taxes that support your officers are not infinite so we work hard to be as efficient as possible. Officers are given the training and equipment they need to react to the best of their abilities. Yes, we still make mistakes but we own up to them. No agency or officer is perfect and our jobs are at times difficult and overwhelming. We do our best to assist all in need and we give back when we can. First Responders Respond is our way to give back to our community. This public safety foundation is run by your local law enforcement, fire and EMS. In partnership with Titus County Cares we raise money to support the immediate needs of those who live or come to our community. The foundation helps hundreds of people each year with immediate needs to include children at Christmas time. This community can take pride in the hard work and dedication of our public safety as a whole in this county and city. When I consider the effort and dedication shown by the employees of the Mount Pleasant Police Department and Animal Shelter this past year, I am reminded of their level of talent and professionalism. I am optimistic for the future of this great community and those who will lead it in the future. Christmas is a busy time for all of us but we will continue to work hard to keep our community safe and prevent crime and disorder. I hope all of us, especially those on duty during Christmas and New Year, stay safe and are able to enjoy our holiday season with family and friends.
