A Concept for the Mountain Life (in process) The A.L.M. haus (Adventure. Life. Mountains.) Leavenworth WA -A new take on the Alpine hut. -The Mountain Huts of the Alpine regions of Southern Bavaria and Austria are an exquisite type of -architecture. These modest structures, spread throughout the region, were used primarily as summer homes for herders and their stock. Today, these homes and structures are often times still used as they were originally intended. They are more often now used as outposts and places to eat, drink and resupply for climbers, hikers and tourists traversing and playing in the Alps. -The A.L.M. haus is a modern take on the Almhütte. The goal is to extend the Alpine lifestyle to those who would like to have their own unique outpost catered towards mountainous regions, wherever their range or meadow might be. -Utilizing the “A.L.M. guide”, a variety of plan configurations, sizes and materials can be selected based on specific requirements and tastes. The varieties of the plans will cater towards the weekend warrior, to the embedded local. Unique styles and forms will be made available based on a modular system of structure and parts, allowing for a limitless array of individuality. -The A.L.M. family of designs will also include a variety of accessory structures catered towards the lifestyle inherent with being in the mountains: snow gear storage, paddle and bike storage, vehicular storage, and sheds. -Born in the Alps and reimagined in Leavenworth, WA, let the A.L.M.
