A Conversation between Sandra and her mentor, Mrs. Johnson. Pastor Dunamis Tunde Okunowo(KHC) Sandra is tired of everything. At almost thirty she is not married. She feels so down and wondered why things seems not to be working, despite her faithfulness to God. Could it be the mistakes of her past? But didnt God forget all of that? She decided to speak with her mentor. Sandra: Ma, I am really tired. Mrs. Johnson: Why are you tired, Sandra? Sandra: Everything...everythi ng...I am just tired of everything. Mrs. Johnson: When last did you read your Bible? Sandra: It is not about Bible reading Mrs. Johnson: You have not answered my question Sandra: See mam, there is no way I can read Bible when I am like this. Mrs. Johnson: Wrong statement. There is no way you wont be like this when you have not read your Bible Sandra: Why must we blame everything on not reading the Bible Mrs. Johnson: Ok, tell me, whats responsible for you looking like Lucozade like this? Sandra: It is because I cannot find any husband Mrs. Johnson: But your husband is right there! Sandra: Where? Mrs. Johnson: Right there, in the Bible (pointing to a Bible) Sandra: he he he Mrs. Johnson: You dont believe that? Sandra: With all due respect, you are married now, did You get your husband from the Bible? Mrs. Johnson: Yes Sandra: Show me the chapter and the verse Mrs. Johnson: Heb 10:37 For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. Sandra: But now that he has refused to come and have decided to tarry, what should I do? Mrs. Johnson: You stopped being in touch with him. You stopped reading the Bible. You lost touch with the one that will cause Him to come. Sandra: What about all those that are married and dont know God? Mrs. Johnson: You too can marry anybody today. What about that other man at your place of work? Sandra: But he doesnt even go to church! Mrs. Johnson: So you cannot just marry anybody. Stop comparing yourself to all those who dont know God and yet they are married. Sandra: So, I should go and find my husband in the scriptures? Mrs. Johnson: Yes, that relationship with God through His word will lead you into His will Sandra: Why is the Bible that powerful and why must I read it daily? Mrs. Johnson: The word of God is life. That is where you get life from. The word of God is a lamp. That is where you get light and direction from. The word of God is food (milk and meat) for your soul. That is where you get strength from. The word of God is filled with Gods glory. That is where you get your beauty from. The word of God will surround you with Favour. That is where you get your fragrance from. Sandra: Deep, deep, deep Mrs. Johnson: Offering time? Sandra: Laughing out loud Mrs. Johnson: Are you still tired of everything? Sandra: No, I see light! Mrs. Johnson: One thing, though Sandra: Yes, I am all ears Mrs. Johnson: You look out for instructions, promises and make sure you do what you are asked to do Sandra: Okay Mrs. Johnson: You stay away from sin and all compromise Sandra: Okay Mrs. Johnson: Stay away from all Jericho traps. Wait for Jeru trips! Sandra: That Jeru trips? Is it always sweet? Mrs. Johnson: It is sweeter than honey Sandra: So you always enjoy it with your husband? Mrs. Johnson: Wait for your time. It is better experienced in marriage than imagined. Sandra: O Lord, deliver me from those who are harassing me! Mrs. Johnson: Okay, so I am no longer your mentor, I am now a tormentor, abi? Sandra: I need that torment o. I want to fly to Jerusalem too o! Mrs. Johnson: Dont worry. God will do it Sandra: Really? Mrs. Johnson: Yes, He will. I thought I will wait forever too. but God honored my relationship with Him, and I was not ashamed. I thanked God today I did not settle for less. My husband is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. Sandra: I want to be like you Mrs. Johnson: Yours will even be more glorious. You have somebody to teach you. You have KHC devotional free everyday? I had nothing like that. Sandra: uhmmmmm Mrs. Johnson: You have no excuse for not making it. You have all it takes. God is equipping you everyday. Just stay with Him. You will not be ashamed.
