A Crystal Swan, short story - 3 At first she didn’t notice anything unusual about a man who drove up, except that the way he was scanning her was unpleasant. She’s felt that kind of attention before, though, from other men who drove by, and she knew, that the counters of her thin body and small breasts outlined by wet sticky clothes didn’t make things any better. Then she saw it. At first she thought it was a rubber toy and how funny it is for a grown up to be driving around with a toy sticking up between his thighs. It took her several seconds to realize what it was, because she has never seen one before. She tried not to blush and concentrated on his face as she blurted out “five dollars”. He handed her a ten and waving away change drove off sharply. His black chevy screeched. Before too long he reappeared. He handed her the bouquet back. “That’s for you, gorgeous.” Sasha was trying really hard not to look down, but curiosity took over. The man was enjoying her attention and she felt nausea rising from her gut. Quickly she placed the bouquet back in the bucket, turning her back to the man, and waited for what seemed to be an eternity. She was pretending to be very busy with rearranging the flowers, till he finally drove off. “How could you take it” - Yurka exclaimed
