A DAY WORTHY OF A RANT CHINESE ASTRO UPDATE Friday December 5, 2014 :: Lunar 10/14 - Qi Node “Light Snows” (OXBOY/Shut) The qi of the day is completely “missing-in-action” in terms of production. For those following the almanac (jie qi) - no problem; anyone sorta following will scrape their shins; anyone struggling against it falls into a Pit. The winter is sending a clear message - “calm down”. Then I rant: But the auspice for rural China in the Song dynasty seems light-years from modern urban USA with its odd heart-knotted idealistic-aggression. There thrives now a compulsion so common in modern life that ideas and motives seem meaningless. It really isn’t where you drink your coffee - it is that everyone drinks coffee. It is not your political views but your basic sense of opposing that is universal. Ok, what does this have to do with Ox Boy constellation? It means that the loaded gun is pressed to your forehead, your illness is terminal, the “environment cannot sustain us much longer” but you say “what can I do to change this?” - truth is nothing can change this - then you ask “what can I do to change this?” - I say “nothing” and you say “what can I do to change this?” - compulsive egoistic mind of being all powerful (even when resources are gone). In the cycle of jie qi tomorrow no one gets privileges, no one gets empowered, fanciful entitlement does not cut it. The qi has left town. Tomorrow the qi is not found outside, working or serving your ego or your plans. It sinks, hides and, like yang in winter, hibernates. Tomorrow is a kind of winter in a day. Since it is also seasonal winter the qi absence is natural if you follow jie qi - if you are a 12 months of July go-getter, double latte entitled person you hit the wall (says tradition). However, double the espresso order, eat an organic candy bar, 2 bananas and puehr in the afternoon and you will say - a day like any other. What then happens is that today’s qi absence will be added to the end of your life - you will die sooner than Fate suggests. This is the consequence of modern life explained by medieval Chinese astrology. So what’s the big deal if I die sooner? Traditionally it means you do not have a complete death and are instantly reborn a ghost. So what, you say? Such ghosts embody compulsion and can only move in frightened swarms over cities - no more entitlement. They get nourishment from inspiring living humans to violence, greed, hatred and every sort of abuse. Ok, just sayin’ - tomorrow be cool. See how far you can drop your ambition. See how far you can see past your compulsions. See if you can find the key of joy found only inside your own human heart - just as it is. This sort of day provides no true distractions from introspection, contemplation and meditation. How good are you at doing nothing? I mean nothing. Though the Large Intestine channel is open - not much qi is available in any channel. Rest and the roots of medical problems may untangle by themselves. Healing yourself, without expectations, is enhanced. ☺
