A DENSE FOG ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST - TopicsExpress

A DENSE FOG ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST TODAY. Today Occasional drizzle before noon, then a slight chance of showers after noon. Areas of dense fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 58. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20%. This morning a broad surface warm front extends from western North Texas through south central and southeastern Oklahoma. This front will slowly lift northward through the day today reinforcing advection (transfer) of low level moisture into North Texas. As most areas across the region are already at or near saturation existing fog some dense will persist at least through the first half of the day. Be very cautious as you head out this morning! Many locations across central and southern Oklahoma and North Texas are reporting visibilities at or below a mile and these visibilities are likely to persist or worsen after sunrise. Some improvement in visibilities may occur later this afternoon but fog is likely to persist through the day. The warm front will lift to the north through the afternoon and evening. As a shortwave brings lift into the very moist air over the area. Shannon WCS
