A Daphneyland Memorial. It took all day to be able to write this one up. Sometimes senior hounds are brought to shelters and relinquished without telling the real reasons of why an owner will no longer care for them. We have always pulled the needy regardless of age, knowing that sometimes we will be their final forever family. Mr. Pickles arrived here on July 15, 2014 from Camarillo Shelter. His ear were so ulcerated that it took 3 months to even be able to clean them effectively. During that time weight gain, chronic eye issues and overall health issues had to be addressed. At a reported 15 years of age, we knew we would most likely be his family. Lots of love, from us here, visitors and his Debbies Dawgs Partners had him happy as any hound you have ever seen. A month ago, he had a seizure. It was evaluated to be most likely a brain tumor, medication and making him happy have been our goal; This weekend he was playing up a storm. Last night he went into multiple grand mal seizures and although his medication pulled him out, he traveled to the rainbow bridge overnight. The tears flowed heavy as final goodbyes to our dear Mr. Pickles were made.... Forever of Daphneyland. Thank you for helping to make these seniors happy in the last days of their lives. Candles are burning bright for the cutie that made everyone smile.
