A December 12 fire at St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church caused an estimated $120,000 in damage to the building at 550 W. 7th St., but it did nothing to the church’s reputation as a stalwart member of the West End neighborhood. A nearby resident was charged with setting the fire and was being held in the Ramsey County Jail. For the full story, see the December 24 issue of the Villager.
