A&E Waiting Area Support Volunteers – Lincoln Hospital Would you like to make a real difference, be part of a professional team, learn new skills and support your local community? Accident & Emergency (A&E) departments can be a stressful experience for many people – being in pain, worried, on their own and sometimes feeling insecure. We are currently recruiting volunteers to support our Lincoln A&E team in their busy waiting area and need friendly volunteers who can welcome individuals to A&E, support vulnerable patients and help with any general queries. You will provide a friendly face and emotional and practical support to often very vulnerable people. Having a friendly face and someone to talk to can help so much in reducing individuals stress levels and improve the overall atmosphere in the waiting area. Service personnel, especially those with experience in a medical or operational environment, will at times also have the opportunity to support staff behind the scenes at A&E. If you are able to commit to 4 hours per week or more on a regular basis and for a minimum of 6 months then we would love to hear from you. Volunteer positions are available 24/7 in the A&E waiting area. Please ensure that you clearly state what days and times that you are available to volunteer on the application form. Please download and read the role description and complete the application form on our website ulh.nhs.uk/ and return it to us via email or by post to Voluntary Services Department, Lincoln Hospital, Greetwell Road, Lincoln LN2 5QY
