A FB friend has raised a legitimate objection to my last post. It was pointed out that I maybe using the following verse in the wrong way I quoted 1 Timothy 2:4King James Version (KJV) 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. And I pointed out that God will have all men saved and come to faith My friend indicated that modern translations dont say that God will have it definitively But that it is his desire that can but not guaranteed to happen However there are many other passages that agree with my point Consider ISAIAH 45 22 Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other. 23 By myself I have sworn; from my mouth has gone out in righteousness a word that shall not return: To me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear allegiance. 1. God declares his will 2. Calls the world to turn to him that is trust him to be saved The result? 3. God has sworn an oath and guaranteed that all will turn to him 4. He has sworn that every knee will bow in allegiance to him God has willed and called forth the salvation of the whole world And has sworn an oath That it will happen Significantly this is the passage that Paul quotes in Philippians 2:10-11 Where he too declares that every knee will bow Turn to the Lord in salvation. This supports the original text that God WILL have 1. All saved 2. To come to a knowledge of the truth = faith Guaranteed We already know the end result Lets teach in confidence
