A FEW MORE LESSONS LEARNED FROM REVIVE TWIN CITIES: During the Revive Twin Cities engage week I learned again of the power of God watching Him change Believers (revival) as they walked in obedience - many for the first time taking the good news of the love of Jesus to their city - amazed and filled with joy that God could/would use them. Again and again we witnessed the miracle of the new birth and how simply encouraging a disheartened Believer can change them. We encountered large numbers of Believers who had dropped out of churches and were able to show them the importance of real community and seek to bring them into one of the churches that had partnered with Time to Revive in this effort. I learned how important Jesus is to new Believers as I watched a Muslim man be baptized boldly and publicly declaring his faith in Jesus Christ under threat of death and divorce. He came out of the water almost glowing with joy - rejoicing in His new found life in Jesus - fearing nothing - knowing he now possessed real life. I watches as a new Believer (only saved for two days) who was well known in the hood went about boldly taking the Gospel to those with whom he had regularly broken the law. I saw how the government knew it could not stop the violence, but that even though they did not understand how, they acknowledged that we could. A city councilman came up to me to thank us for coming and invited us to return anytime for we are welcome. I laughed to myself remembering that we had previously been denied the use of any public parks, but now having seen what only Jesus could do to change hearts and lives - the welcome mat was out.
