A FEW THOUGHTS ABOUT MY POSTS ON FACEBOOK: I got into trouble with a friend because I have posted several things on my personal face book page, which I found on the Facebook home page, that had to do with people and not with sharks or other marine life, which I normally write about. Some of the things I posted were part of the American history, and nothing to be proud of. I was asked when I was going to hand back my US passport, because of my anti American behavior. I am opposed to anything that has been bad for people or for animals and I think it is not at all anti American to show some of the things that we cannot be proud of. I was born in Germany and have always openly discussed the bad things the Nazis did, like the Holocaust and other things that we Germans cannot be proud ot. My mother, was so outspoken against the Nazis, that she almost got into trouble with them. Maybe I got it from her? There have been bad things happening in the United States, as have been in Germany, in Russia, in England and France. Almost every country in the world has some things in its background that one cannot be proud of. When I think about the American Indians, I feel very sad and to express this sadness has nothing to do with being anti American. I am proud to be an American citizen and I will not give up my American citizenship. Why should I? I will, however, continue to point out things and times in which countries have used bad judgment and done bad things. I will mainly write and speak up against bad things. Wee need to remember every once in a while the bad things that have happened so that they hopefully dont happen again. I will continue to do that and if I do, it does not mean that I am against a certain country and I am certainly not going to return my passport because I speak my mind and of the bad things that happened years ago. I was never asked to give up my German passport because I spoke out against German atrocities. I just want to make sure that they dont happen again. My posts are normally about the ocean, the shark and all the marine life in the oceans, but every once in a while I point out human atrocities as well. I dont think that is bad and it is definitely not against specific countries. Let me know what you think.
