A FLOOD watch has been issued for parts of the Central Highlands & Coalfields, Capricornia and Wide Bay & Burnett forecast districts. An upper trough is forecast to bring showers and storms to south east Queensland during Thursday, spreading to rain areas during the evening and overnight into Friday. Widespread rain is forecast for much of Friday, clearing away during Saturday. Rainfall totals of 50-100mm are possible, with locally higher totals likely with storms. Recent rain over the last week has wetted the catchments. River level rises above the minor flood level are possible. Heavy rainfall may also lead to localised flash flooding. Catchments at risk within the Flood Watch area include the Dawson (Fitzroy catchment), Calliope, Boyne, Baffle, Kolan, Burrum-Cherwell, Burnett and Mary.
