A Fathers Love For His Wandering Children God is a good Father. The very best. He always has us on His heart and is always there when we need Him most. There is nothing we can do that will stop Him from loving us. Even when we screw up! There are few chapters of the Bible that I love more than Psalm 25. It is a promise of Gods unfailing goodness and love to those of us who stumble and sometimes stray. Many times, when I have stepped off the path of faith, and allowed my flesh to trip me up, I have found my comfort in praying this powerful psalm. I have prayed it often for others as well. For believers who have less than stellar track records and need God to bless and prosper them anyway. Here we learn something about the heart of David. He was a deeply imperfect man whose impulsive nature was given to stumbling into sin. He often got off the path and needed to be corrected. In Psalm 25 David shows us his little kid inside that runs back to His heavenly Dad and says, Dad, I need you to forgive me again. I got off the path. I blew it big!. But you are my dad who loves me forever. So forgive, bless, and prosper me. My heart is to whats right dad. Help me get it right, for I put my trust in you..... And God is the faithful Father, who picks up his bruised and dirty kids, puts them on His lap, tenderly wipes them clean, and whispers loving wisdom into their forgetful little ears... Listen to these excerpts and see the love of God for His stumbling saints, 11 For the honor of your name, O LORD, forgive my many, many sins. 12 Who are those who fear the LORD? He will show them the path they should choose. 13 They will live in prosperity, and their children will inherit the land. 14 The LORD is a friend to those who fear him. He teaches them his covenant. ... 16 Turn to me and have mercy, for I am alone and in deep distress. 17 My problems go from bad to worse. Oh, save me from them all! 18 Feel my pain and see my trouble. Forgive all my sins. ... 20 Protect me! Rescue my life from them! Do not let me be disgraced, for in you I take refuge. 21 May integrity and honesty protect me, for I put my hope in you. [Psa 25:8, 10-14, 16-18, 20-21 NLT] Read Psalm 25 today out loud. Believe that God hears the cry of your heart and will do every wonderful thing it promises. Because you have a good Dad in heaven. And Hes waiting to pick you up, wash you up, and walk with you back on the path of He Perfect Plan for your life.
