A G I F T F O R A L L “I will no longer hide my face from them, for I will pour down my Spirit in the house of Israel.” - Ezekiel 39:29 Throughout Israel’s history God has sent His Spirit selectively. He inspired the artisan of the Ark of the Covenant to craft the place of His presence. His Spirit has come upon Moses and kings, as well as occasional prophets. But for God to “pour out” His Spirit on a nation? His presence touching an entire population? That was unheard of. But God makes it clear that this was His plan all along/not to measure Spirit sparingly upon those He needed for the moment, but lavished it on everyone He calls His own. What was once the privilege of those special anointed with sacred oil will now be given to all. Every man, women, and child will be treated as God’s royalty and His special servant. The house of Israel will indeed be blessed. God’s word through the prophet Joel carried His intentions even further: He pour out His Spirit on all people (Joel 2:28), a phenomenon Peter identified on the day of Pentecost. The domain of a nation of priest will become a global domain, available to everyone who believes the Holy Spirit, so mysterious and hidden for all of human history, would manifest Himself on every human being who ask. The face of the Almighty would never be hidden again. IN DEED We are privileged to live in the day of which the prophets spoke. The problem is that we don’t invite His Presences as openly and persistently as we could. And we lose sight of the gift. Obviously to much of what He does, we lose the ability to recognized Him. Then the Spirit becomes mysterious and hidden once again, is subject of theological debate and casualties of cold hearts. Make this as your most persistent prayer request: Holy Spirit, show yourself in my life. Let me breathe Your breath, see with Your eyes, feel Your feelings, think Your thoughts, speak Your words, and hear Your voice. You’ll be amazed of how lavishly He pours Himself out for you. “The Holy Spirit is not a blessing from God. He is GOD.” – Colin Urquhart - Excerpt ”Worship the King “ 11/12 by Chris Tiegreen
