A GLIMPSE FROM MY OLD DIARIES 1 Many years ago as a television reporter, I did a report on a young boy who was thought to be mad and who lived on a bridge in Ede,Osun state. My attention was drawn to the young boy because he spoke very good English. After the report, it was discovered that this boy actually had occasional fits of epilepsy and was abandoned by his family. The then Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Ede, Mr Jimmy Bamgbose watched the report, took in the boy, clothed him, offered medical help and gave him a job in the institution. A few years later however, I was driving through an area in Ibadan, Oyo state and saw this same boy now totally mad walking about naked! I still cant accurately explain what happened....
