A GOOD EVENING ON TV: One of my favorite shows on TV is The Last Word with Lawrence ODonnell. Tonight he mentioned that the republican Congress was trying to figure a way to punish President Obama for issuing an Executive Action on Immigration Reform. I see a serious flaw in this line of thinking. Since when do Senators or Congressman decide they are going to punish the President of the United States? Lets look at reality for a second. A Congressman is elected by the people within his district of ONE state. A Senator is elected by the people within his district in ONE state. Both Congressmen and Senators represent the will of only the people within their districts. On the other hand, The President of the United States is elected by the general public of ALL districts of ALL states. Now just the shear numbers can help ANYBODY with a functioning brain to understand the position of POTUS. When a President is elected he and he alone represents the combined will of the American people. When a Senator or Congressman is elected, he represents the will of only the people of ONE DISTRICT IN ONE STATE. So the next time you hear McConnell or Boehner declare that the President is disregarding the will of the people, you know for a fact they are claiming BULLSHIT. President Obama has been obstructed for five years in performing the combined will of the American people. When you win an election by over 6 million votes it is obvious that the people have spoken.
