A GREAT DAY IN AUGUSTA! The City of Augusta Planning Board approved the proposal from Islamic Society of Greater Augusta to build a mosque. Four faith leaders spoke in favor. I spoke in support on behalf of UUCC and the Winthrop Area Ministerial Association. The Jewish, Catholic, Protestant and Uu community came out to show their support. No one, yes, no one opposed the proposal. The board moved very quickly to a unanimous vote of approval. Those gathered broke out in applause.
