A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR CREATIVES! PPC Ltd has launched the Imaginarium Awards, an ambitious modern art and design awards programme aimed at promoting and supporting emerging creative talent in South Africa. The PPC Imaginarium Awards’ primary aim is to award innovation and design thinking using cement as a primary inspiration or material. The Imaginarium Fashion Award is a freestyle design competition open to both students and young fashion designers, tailors and stylists who have not yet established themselves. The DEADLINE to submit your written concept only is 31 August 2014. Final submissions in November should include a mini collection of three outfits in menswear or womenswear, or a mix of both. In addition to, or including, a mini collection of three accessories, including bags, belts, hats, shoes, eyewear, headgear etc. Please note that Jewellery must be submitted in its own category. The work of entrants will be adjudicated by an independent panel of industry-leading judges, which will comprise prominent professionals and academics. Finalists in each category will be announced in early 2015 at the Museum of African Design and stand a chance to win R50 000 each. The overall Imaginarium winner will win an additional R100 000 at the awards ceremony at Design Indaba 2015.
