A German Rapier Sword from the last part of the sixteenth century measuring about 116 cms in length. The sword has a straight, double-edged blade with triple, central fuller and five grooves at the tang. The elegant, iron hilt has an “S”-shaped quillon of octagonal section and quillons ending in oval knots with four hollow grooves. The three rings at the front are decorated at the centre with similar gilt knots, while the quillon-block comes with three raisers. At the back there are three spider-shaped loops, plus the large pommel comes with hollow git grooves. The wooden grip features brass wire binding and a moor’s heads, plus bronze twisted band.
