A Glimmer of Hope as Kate Ellis Presents Childcare (yes yes yes... we working on it...) Petition? It seems petitions, that may at the time seem like a simple way to act, have some power or at least recognition in todays political climate... I still dont know exactly what I think of them in comparison to other activist/lobbying strategies I have learned and been part of generating over the years, but here the Labor presents its own petition in parliament as evidence... We could debate that 25,000ish is and isnt significant in per capita terms... but its definitely more than a whisper... Thats my 3 cents... Im curious about yours... Liam McNicholas took the initiative to start a petition for Quality for Children 3 Years and under (our language is always to cumbersome!) - he is bidding for 1000 signatures... Imagine if we could rustle up 25000... What would it take from you? And one best fiend? or two? a community or family member? That would be the 1000 easily... then onto lager (in)significant numbers? together? can we? Remember we will hear form the Productivity Commission and Im tipping none of us will want to say we didnt contribute in some way... seemingly small but surely significant... If not us then who/m? Of not now, when? Just saying like...
