A Government funded high technology investment initiative specific to future transport and hybrid electric vehicle development are seeking a field based Programme Manager. The role will be responsible for addressing a variety of transport-related challenges. Experience of hybrid electric vehicles is essential. Commutable from: Oxford, Bristol, Newbury, Swindon, UK wide Salary: £ 45,000 - £ 55,000 plus 10% bonus, pension 26% and car Suitable for: Project Manager, Senior Project Engineer The Role Positively manage activities relating to the developments of Low Carbon Vehicles (LCV) in the UK transport industry in a proactive manner. Apply strategic thinking to the effective design and delivery of new projects. Support the Innovation Platform Leader and Head of Transport in stakeholder management whilst being aware of and involved in all relevant activities of the industry and supply chain. Gain strategic knowledge of activities that impact on the potential of the automotive industry and ensure that colleagues are made aware as necessary. Support the lead technologist and portfolio manager to assist the operations team by providing specialist input to funding competitions and interventions that involve the automotive industry. Develop and present the internal business case for help and support in this specialist area. Represent the company at high level meetings, conferences, workshops and similar activities to develop and publicise their work in this area. Participate in evaluation teams in review of completing all LCV-related projects and compile a regular statement of the outputs and outcomes of supported projects to inform future activities accordingly. The Candidate The successful candidate will be degree educated in a relevant science of engineering related discipline. Ideally you will have 5 years experience within a similar role. Experience of Hybrid Electric Vehicles is essential. Direct experience of research, research management and/or business exploitation in the automotive industry. Additional professional experience and credibility in their specialist area, with understanding of key technology trends and current evolving UK and global business opportunities within that area. Strong interest/background in business competitiveness and technology policy/delivery. Have and understanding of government structure, key partner organisations and EU framework processes.
