A Great Civilization Needs a Calendar! First, I confirm my love and respect to all sincere Muslims, lay folk and scholars. Then I say the following to those insisting on physical sighting of the moon: Its as if we are telling the whole world: Islam is the final Divine Message. It was the foundation of a great civilization that lasted 1000 years and is capable of creating a new civilization that leads the world towards progress, prosperity and scientific and technological advancement. But, I cannot tell you what todays date is for certain! Well, you might say: We could have two calendars: one fixed for secular use and one variable for religious use. And my response to that is: How is Islam, then, a comprehensive way of life that does not separate Deen from everyday life??!!!
