A Great day yesterday at our client stable visit to Martin - TopicsExpress

A Great day yesterday at our client stable visit to Martin Todhunters beautiful Lakeland stables. Martin welcome us with ice cold pink champagne and went on to take everyone around the stables and explain his training regime and to talk about his current horses. We visited every in mate and everyone had the opportunity to feed the horses polo mints as a treat. He then took everyone to the tack room and explained the use for all of the equipment therein. Over an excellent lunch I explained the phenomenal success that my owners had enjoyed with horses trained by Martin such as Crathorne (8 wins) Ostfanni (5 wins) etc etc. and went to explain the benefits of syndicated ownership. Off to Cartmel races today for a picnic and hopefully a bit of bookie bashing! HORSERACING A quiet weekend on the flat with no group races taking place in the UK. Two excellent jumping cards at Cartmel and Market Rasen. Cartmel is a quirky course and it usually pays to follow horses who have run well there before. GOLF Two days into the British Open and the two main outcomes so far have been the abysmal performance by European players and the fact that the course has more than held its own against the world’s best. CRICKET England well in charge at the end of day two of the second Ashes test at Lords. You have to wonder whether the decision not to enforce the follow on was influenced by gate money income over the next three days. TOUR DE FRANCE A magnificent effort by Chris Froome who looks like following up his selfless second place to Bradley Wiggins last year with a comprehensive victory. A truly magnificent effort and remember he could have been backed at 28/1 after the first few stages.
