A Great start to this years Australian Amateur for Shae Wools Cobb who fired a 3 under par 69 in very difficult conditions on a very difficult Australian Golf Club layout to sit in a tie tie for 3rd. Shaes 69 was also the low score of the day at the Australian. Charlie Dann and Todd Balkin also fired solid 1 over par rounds to sit in a Tie for 27th. In the womens event Gennai Goodwin shot a solid opening round of 2 over par to sit in a Tie for 13th.
