A Guest Lecture Programme was organised by the Department of Aeronautical Engineering for the Pre-Final and second Year students of Aeronautical Engineering . The Resource Person was Dr. M. Ramachandra Bhat from Indian Institute Of Science Bangalore who is actively involved in composites projects like NDE of Hydrothermal Effects on Composites, Evaluation of Cryogenic Effects on Mechanical properties of Space Grade Metallic Materials. The programme commenced with welcome address given by Dr. R.Sampath kumar, Head of the Department of Aeronautical Engineering. This programme was graced by the presence of the Principal Dr.N.R.Alamelu. The Resource person gave his presentation on the topic Advanced Composite Material For Aerospace application and Challenges. He explained the students about the Components, Fabrication, Mechanics and Analysis of Composite Materials and discussed current composite markets related to automotive, aircraft and other industrial applications. He shared his own experiences on the various methods of NDE of Composites. The students found the session to be highly informative and useful. The programme came to the end with the vote of thanks proposed by P.Kiran, Secretary of AESI, Department of Aeronautical Engineering.
