A HUGE thank you to members of the Yinnar and Driffield CFA who turned out to put out a fire today in Yinnar to keep us all safe! Many people dont realise how often these VOLUNTEERS are called out to avert tragedy by putting out lots of fires which the general public dont know about as they dont get advertised. Thomas was just called out to this fire today which had started on the side of the road in Driffield Road, Yinnar. Whether this was accidental (ie like a spark from a mower/machinery or an absent-minded person dropping or throwing a cigarette butt out of a car -which you should NEVER do EVER!- even if you think youve extinguished it before doing so) or if it was deliberately lit -(in which case, I do not have words which can be said here for the despicable perpetratorl), PLEASE, everyone, be AWARE and on the look out for any suspicious behaviour (as they still havent caught the fire bug who lit all those fires last year) and make sure your own actions are responsible especially at this time of year!
