A Healthy Mask Few of us pay attention to, or acknowledge the significance of the airline stewardesses instructions to place the mask over our face before placing it over the face of our children. The intent of her instruction is to identify the fact that our children have little to no chance of survival in the event of an emergency if we are not healthy ourselves. Likewise, the emotional health of a parental caregiver has a direct effect of the emotional health of those being cared for. Although the word healthy itself is subjective, unhealthy is an elusive state to identify. Our children are likely to contract the same conditions we exhibit, but stand a higher chance to be healthy if we put on our mask first. RP
