A Hidalgo County woman who was injured in a car accident that was caused by an unsecured recliner has been awarded over half a million dollars. According to attorneys, the driver of a Sofa Mart truck was driving in front of the woman when furniture fell on the roadway causing her to swerve and hit another vehicle. Prior to litigation, the woman was offered only $150,000. The case against Sofa Mart was won by the plaintiff and she was awarded $676,163. (valleycentral)
